As part of Budget 2021’s goal in strengthening the nation’s economic resilience alongside social development, the Government of Malaysia has announced PPISK as a proof-of-concept initiative to introduce and promote social procurement across public sector entities in Malaysia.
It also seeks to provide a platform to access the capacity and capability of social impact businesses in providing impact-driven products and/or services at scale. Approved PPISK applicants will be onboarded to the national e-procurement system, i.e. e-Perolehan, as registered vendors for the Government of Malaysia for procurement opportunities.
To this end, the Government of Malaysia (“GOM”) has announced a total of RM20 million worth of social procurement opportunities available to be tapped on.
